How to remember every concert you’ve been to

You remember the concerts you write down. No app can reconstruct a night you never recorded. Start with the shows you can still verify. Write down the artist, the venue, the city and the date, and keep doing that the night of the show. “Every” means every one you can still prove, not a complete life history pulled from somewhere else.

The night of the show

Write it before you sleep, or the next morning. The entry is the artist, the venue, the city and the date. A rating, photos and notes are optional.

  1. Artist. If a search misses them, type the name you would use later.
  2. Venue. Two nights in the same tour are different rooms.
  3. City, so those two nights do not collapse into one.
  4. The date. It starts as today. Change it to the night of the show. “Last spring” is not a date you can sort.

A note can hold who you went with, or a setlist you type. There is no separate setlist to save. In Encore, that is the add-concert form on iPhone. Photos and videos go on the media tab and stay on the phone. Encore does not scan the camera roll for you. The steps for a show from years ago are the same screen, written out in how to log concerts you went to years ago.

The concerts you already forgot

Work from evidence, not from a feeling that you “must have been there.” A ticket email, a past order, a photo whose date is the night itself, a card charge you then check against one of those. Copy what the source says. If you only know the year, wait. Encore stores one calendar date, not a year by itself, and it will not look the missing day up.

setlist.fm can remind you of shows you marked as attended. Encore does not import that list. You copy each show across by hand. If another diary says it can fill venues and setlists from a catalog, that is their claim. Encore does not do it.

What will not come back

  • No history import, and no ticket or screenshot scan.
  • No setlist filled in. You can write one in the notes.
  • No cloud restore. If you sign in, the text of a concert is backed up. This version cannot restore it after a reinstall or a new phone, and nothing syncs between devices. Photos and videos stay on the iPhone.
  • No Android app and no web app. The diary is on iPhone, iOS 18 or later.

The free plan stops at 10

Every feature is in the free plan, capped at 10 concerts. The eleventh save opens Premium and does not add the show. On the US App Store, measured 5 October 2026, Premium is $1.99 a week, $9.99 a year, or $25.99 once. Prices can differ by country. Stats, the year-end wrapped, and the concert passport build only from shows you actually logged.

Questions

Can an app remember concerts I never wrote down?

No. If you did not keep a date, a photo, a ticket email, or a charge, the night is gone. Encore does not import a history, scan your camera roll, or pull shows from setlist.fm. You type the ones you can still verify.

What should I write down the night of the show?

Write down the artist, the venue, the city and the date. A rating, photos and notes are optional. Add who you went with, and a setlist only if you type it. Photos and videos stay on the iPhone. Encore has no setlist field.

What if I have more than 10 concerts?

Encore’s free plan includes every feature and stops at 10 concerts. Saving another show on the free plan opens Premium and does not add the show. On the US App Store, measured 5 October 2026, Premium is $1.99 a week, $9.99 a year, or $25.99 once.

What the word “diary” covers is in what is a concert diary.
